Rossburn Development Block A Limited ("Rossburn", "we", "us") collects and holds personal information about people who register their interest in Rossburn, contact us, or use our website. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

Rossburn Development Block A Limited, 220 Boys Road, Rangiora, sales@rossburn.co.nz

If you have a question about your information, or you want to see it, correct it or have it removed, that address is where to write.

What we collect

When you register your interest, enquire about a section, or subscribe to our updates, we collect the information you give us. Depending on the form, that may include:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number
  • your postal address or suburb
  • what you are looking for — section size, timing, the kind of home you have in mind
  • anything else you choose to tell us in a message or enquiry

When you use our website we also collect technical information automatically, including your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and how you arrived. This is described further under Cookies and tracking below.

Providing your information is voluntary. You do not have to register to look at the website. If you choose not to give us your contact details, we will not be able to send you updates or contact you about a section.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • send you updates about Rossburn, including stage releases, progress and events
  • contact you about sections, respond to your enquiry, and manage a sale process if you decide to proceed
  • keep a record of our dealings with you
  • understand how our website and advertising are performing, so we can improve them
  • show Rossburn advertising to you and to people with similar interests on platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Google

We will not use your information for a purpose unconnected with Rossburn, and we do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information with the following people and organisations, and only so far as they need it for the purposes above:

  • Our sales team, to respond to your enquiry and manage section sales.
  • Our consultants, including those who manage our marketing, advertising, website and email.
  • Our solicitors and other professional advisers, where a sale or a legal matter requires it.
  • Service providers who host or process information on our behalf, described below.
  • Anyone else, where you have asked us to, or where the law requires or allows it.

Service providers and where your information is held

We use third-party services to run our website, hold our records, send our email updates, measure how our website is used, and deliver our advertising. These providers may access personal information in the course of providing those services, and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.

Some of these providers are based outside New Zealand, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that they have privacy safeguards comparable to those required under the Privacy Act 2020 before disclosing information to them.

If you would like to know which consultants or providers we use, write to us at sales@rossburn.co.nz and we will tell you.

Advertising and audience matching

We advertise Rossburn on platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Google.

To do this, we may share your email address or phone number with those platforms so they can show our advertising to you, and to people whose interests appear similar to yours. Where we do this, the information is converted into a coded form (a "hash") before it is sent, and the platform is not permitted to use it for its own purposes or to disclose it to anyone else.

You can opt out of this at any time. Email us at sales@rossburn.co.nz and we will remove you from any advertising audiences we have created, and will not include you in future ones. Opting out will not affect your registration or your ability to enquire about a section.

You can also control advertising you see directly through the platforms themselves, through the ad settings in your Facebook, Instagram or Google account.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, to understand how the site is used and to measure and deliver our advertising. These may record pages you visit, actions you take such as completing a form, and technical information about your device.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work as intended if you do.

Email updates

If you subscribe to our updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or by contacting us directly. We will stop sending you marketing emails, though we may still contact you where it relates to an enquiry or a transaction you have started.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and enquiry information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, and for as long as we are required to keep it by law. Where you ask us to remove your information, and we are not required to keep it, we will do so. We review our registration list every two years and remove contacts who have had no contact and/or interaction with us in that time.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Access to our records is limited to the people who need it for the purposes above. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask for a copy of it
  • ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or to attach a statement recording that you consider it wrong
  • ask us to stop sending you marketing, and to remove you from advertising audiences

Write to sales@rossburn.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information or your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz, or 0800 803 909.

Children

Our website and our registration process are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
